4,000 Signatures to Save a Forest
Director / Producer / Strategist
Scope of Work
I came in to revamp the campaign strategy, produce a series of community-driven social media videos, and help build public momentum against a county plan to commercially log a 636-acre protected forest. I directed, shot, and edited the content, and collaborated directly with Dr. Dominick DellaSala, one of the country's leading forest conservation scientists, to ground the campaign in credible expertise.

The Challenge
Kitsap County announced plans to remove up to half the trees across 519 acres of Banner Forest Heritage Park, a public forest the community spent a decade fighting to protect in the 1990s. The logging was driven by county revenue goals, not ecology. Friends of Banner Forest needed a campaign that could mobilize the local community fast, generate political pressure, and make the issue impossible to ignore. The existing campaign needed sharper creative, stronger distribution, and content that could move people beyond the usual advocacy audience.
My Approach
I produced a series of short-form social videos designed for community reach: real residents, real stakes, real location footage. Working alongside Dr. DellaSala (300+ published papers, UN Earth Summit keynote speaker, congressional expert witness on forest protection), I made sure the science was accessible without being diluted. The content strategy was built around local distribution: share-friendly formats, clear calls to action, and captions written to convert viewers into petition signers and event attendees. This is an ongoing project.
